Outfit of The Day

This is another example of a fun summer outfit to give my audience some inspiration. I started with the staple piece, that being the green shorts, and I styled the rest of the outfit around them. The shorts are kind of bold with the green color and the tie belt so I decided to keep everything simple. I added a tight, white, v-neck long sleeve shirt to help accentuate my waist. The tight shirt paired with the belted shorts helps define the waistline creating a nice shape. I then added a slightly heeled sandal to add to the dressed up look. The brown compliments the green shorts nicely. Lastly, I added some accessories. A rose gold watch paired with a matching rose gold bracelet add a little sparkle and elegance to the outfit. I added one last pop of color with my favorite orange purse. Adding a small statement bag can really help add glamour to your look without taking away from the outfit itself. Hope this outfit and styling tips can help you when you’re stuck figuring out what to wear!

Fun Things to do in Quarantine

While most of us have been hiding inside our homes trying to stay healthy, we have had to come up with new ways to keep ourselves entertained. I have come up with some fun things to ensure that you are not left bored through these tough times.

  1. Catch up on any work – if you are behind with school or backed up on work now is the perfect time to catch up
  2. Get artsy – paint, draw, sew, knit, or even sketch, get your creative juices flowing and create something to add to your home or even give as a gift
  3. Get active – you can watch at home workout videos and follow along
  4. Cook – try new recipes or things you haven’t made in a while, maybe bake a cake or dessert
  5. Start a new series – I have been binge watching Shameless season 9 and All American season 2, I recommend both but there are hundreds of options that you could occupy yourself with
  6. Rearrange/ clean your room – switching up your room while deep cleaning it can be very rewarding. You get a change of scenery while you are stuck inside and also are fighting against the virus by cleaning. You can also clean out your closet and shed some of the clothes you no longer wear

These are just a few tips and activities you can partake in to keep yourself more active throughout the days spent inside. Hope you enjoy!

A Perfect Day

Yesterday, March 1st was a great day and I am deciding to blog about it. I started my day late, around 10:30, because I had nothing to do until 11:30. I left campus around 11:20 and headed to the Hood baseball game. The boys did really well in the first and second game (they had two because it was a double header) Coach was very pleased with their performance. After the game my boyfriend and I decided to get Chipotle, one of my favorite food places, and some of his teammates decided to join. We had a great time eating and talking about how the game went. We then made our way back to campus and decided to finish the last episode of the TV series we are watching. The whole day was amazing and it was the best way I could have spent my Sunday!

Urban Outfit of The Day

I am posting a picture and description of my outfit in hopes to inspire other people’s fashion. I am wearing black skinny jeans from Hollister paired with white, low top, Nike Air Force 1’s that are accented with orange dots. For my top I have paired a long-sleeve black and white stripped shirt along with a white graphic shirt. The white short sleeve shirt is a vintage shirt given to my by my mother while the black and white striped shirt is from Target. These two paired together work well because of the colors and stripes on both the under shirt and cats on the top shirt. The blue in the shirt and orange dots on the sneakers also compliment each other very well. I styled my hair in a half up half down sort of way. I put the upper half of my hair into two little floppy buns to match the urban casual style of my outfit.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
